Pomme kicks off her North American tour by releasing her lost track “Weird”
Pomme kicked off her North American tour on June 9 in Quebec. It includes shows in Mexico, Columbia, and will finish off next week on June 19th in Los Angeles.
The release of “weird” is a continuation of her emotional journey that she started and shared in her latest album Saisons. “Weird” was originally a part of an EP released during quarantine. This EP was a way for her “to stay creative and write really short, simple, descriptive songs,” says Pomme. She describes the songs she wrote for the EP as a way for her to get through a weird time as a teenager. However, that EP was removed from all platforms shortly after its release. She released “Weird” again ahead of her first headline tour in the US.
“I wanted to give it to you all as a tiny gift,” says Pomme. “I’m so grateful and excited for this tour.”
Just last month, Pomme released her entire fourth album, titled Saisons. It is available in two parts; “autumn/winter,” which was released last December, and “spring/summer,” which completes the cycle of Saisons. This album follows her previous album, consolations, which is certified gold in France, Les Failles, certified platinum in France, and her first album, A peu près - the album that made her a household name.
Consolations is a significantly personal project that Pomme wrote during the pandemic while she was in between France and Canada.
With Saisons, Pomme takes a different creative direction, fulfilling her desire to create a collective gesture, and collaborating with other artists, such as Aaron Dessner (The National) during the winter movement, and Flavien Berger for autumn. For “spring-summer,” MALVINA conducts an orchestration that accompanies Pomme. This album is one that invites you to listen in one sitting, and allows your imagination to wander.
Pomme is an artist who one would want to see in concert. She was nominated for Concert of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique 2024 for her live performances that won the hearts of many.
