It’s the Late Night with Sombr from San Francisco, CA
It was an electrifying night as fans gathered at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for a sold out show with Pop star Sombr. The rising Indie/Alternative artist has been making his mark with viral hits like “Back to Friends” and “Undressed.”
I was admittedly amazed with how the stage was set up. Before Sombr came onto stage he was queued by a crew member who had a directors clapboard. It was a great detail to kick off the beginning of the show.
The anticipation built up as the stage filled with fog, and Sombr hit the stage opening with “i wish i knew how to quit you.” I was struck by his ability to capture the attention of the crowd.
As the night continued, the guitars for “Dime” began. This was one of my favorite songs of the night. There was just something cool about this one with his vocals being emotionally raw and addictive.
We made it to the segment in the show where Sombr brings up a fan on stage, but that wasn’t the case for tonight's show. “I’m going to be calling my exes instead of you guys calling your exes,” Sombr said. Fans were super excited to hear who was going to pick up the phone. Record producer and songwriter Benny Blanco picked up the phone in total confusion. It seemed like Sombr was trying to get a hold of his wife Selena Gomez.
Sombr headed to the couch where he began his ballad song “Canal Street.” The blending of the vocals with the bluesy chords from the guitar was mesmerizing.
Returning to the stage for his encore songs, Sombr closed out the night with his major hits “Back to Friends” and “12 to 12.” Sombr did not want the night to end as he encouraged fans to keep dancing and singing until the very end.
