Brendon B’s First Show in San Diego
On May 12th, Sacramento musician Brendon B had his first show in San Diego with his solo project at Soda Bar. He was formerly the frontman of Sacramento band Mom Cars, and is quickly emerging as a must-watch artist in the Northern California scene. After Mom Cars, Brendon ventured off to focus on making his own music, adding a folk touch to his alternative rock roots. This was Brendon’s first tour run as a soloist, and he made sure to leave an impression, sharing his best work from throughout his career.
The setlist included his solo music, which he started releasing early last year, along with some Mom Cars favorites that we are not ready to let go of yet. He threw in some surprises as well, welcoming Dadlore’s lead guitarist Ryder Schwartz to sing a couple pieces with him for an acoustic section of his set.
The show was intimate, with a room filled with friends and fans showing their support for Brendon as he showcased his vulnerability through his art. You can hear his passion with every song he sings, and can feel meaning behind every word. He shared his appreciation for his bandmates throughout his set, as well as for the venue’s crew and bartenders, giving the show a sense of community for everyone involved.
We hope to see more of Brendon B in San Diego again soon, but in the meantime, we can listen to his music on Spotify, including his latest single “darts.” The last show for this tour will be in San Francisco on June 2nd, and tickets are still available for purchase.
