San Diego Surf Rock band Dolphins on Acid releases their single of the summer

Local San Diego band Dolphins on Acid released their latest single, “Car Troubles” on September 6. Dolphins on Acid is a 3-piece surf rock band that formed back in early 2022, made up of Max Wayland on vocals and guitar, Koosha Jones on bass, and Danny Cozmos on drums . They started out doing shows on beaches, backyards, and parking lots, and with their growing fanbase, have moved on to larger venues in San Diego, such as House of Blues and Music Box.

Dolphins on Acid is known for their energetic music and fun lyrics, and they continue that trend with “Car Troubles”. The song starts with the sound of an engine starting, introducing the theme of the song to its listeners. There is a consistent upbeat guitar riff that we hear throughout the song, with the occasional mellowing out for the verses. They ease into an instrumental breakdown with the sound of a car burning out towards the end of the song. The use of these sound effects makes “Car Troubles” a song that stands out from the rest of Dolphins on Acid’s discography. They executed the production of this song very well, and it showcases their creativity as musicians. They do this with their lyrics as well, comparing a relationship to car troubles. The relationship is having some tough spots, and there's only so much you can do to try and keep it running. You wait for tomorrow, hoping things start up and work out again. The song is catchy, optimistic, and one that’ll get you moving at their next show.

Dolphins on Acid is showing us a new look, new music, and they have some shows coming up in San Diego.
